Our courses are limited to small groups of no more than 6 students, and class sessions are held live and online. These live and online classes are designed to help students effectively learn the subject of their choice. We have focused on courses that promote and enable our students not only to learn the subject material, but also to develop their personal communication, critical thinking, and speaking abilities.
Class sessions are held once a week for 45 minutes to 1 hour per course. After each class session, students will receive a Weekly Plan from their instructor. Students also take weekly quizzes, which provide them and their parents with an easy way to measure progress. Upon completion of their final exams, students will receive a certificate of completion. All our instructors have been selected and trained by RoLa Scholars, and are either private tutors, teachers, or other types of educators.
G1-G5 Reading and Writing, Speaking and Vocab
The objective of this 13-week course is to help students in analyzing, discussing and presenting stories through better communication, while improving their writing skills. They will also see nearly 200 new vocabulary words.
Many jobs, as well as day to day school activities, require the use of public speaking and communication skills. However, when asked to present an idea or talk to strangers for the first time, many students don't always know how to express themselves in an articulate manner. This course will help students develop an “elevator speech” to introduce themselves, do plenty of practice with vocabulary and idioms that will also help them with SAT critical reading, and work on small presentations focusing on confidence, pronunciation, grammar usage, and any other topics they may find challenging.
Public Speaking & Communications
Foreign Languages: Spanish and French
Many students need to learn a language for school, or they may want to learn a new language not offered at their school. RoLa Scholars' language courses enable students to learn all aspects of their chosen language, including reading, writing, speaking and comprehension. Students will work with an experienced, native speaker of their chosen language in order to achieve maximum proficiency.
